We are seeking a talented and experienced Fashion Designer to join a luxury Indian wear brand. This role is ideal for someone with a strong passion for Indian fashion, luxury design aesthetics, and the ability to create exclusive, high-end apparel. The Fashion Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing and developing elegant and innovative designs that resonate with our clientele, while also aligning with our brand’s reputation for luxury and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design Conceptualization: Create unique and sophisticated designs for Indian wear, including bridal lehengas, sarees, anarkalis, sherwanis, and other bespoke couture items that reflect luxury and heritage.
• Trend Analysis: Research global and local fashion trends, textiles, and cultural elements to inspire exclusive designs that set new trends in luxury Indian wear.
• Fabric & Material Curation: Source luxurious fabrics, embellishments, and accessories, ensuring quality standards that align with the brand’s premium positioning.
• Sketching & CAD Development: Develop initial sketches and digital illustrations, create detailed tech packs, and work with CAD software to bring the designs to life.
• Pattern Making & Prototyping: Oversee pattern creation, work closely with artisans and tailors on sample production, and ensure that designs are translated into high-quality final products.
• Artisan Collaboration: Partner with skilled artisans to incorporate traditional techniques, hand embroidery, and embellishments, ensuring each piece is a work of art.
• Client Consultation & Customization: Meet with clients for bespoke orders, understanding their vision and creating customized designs that reflect their personality and style.
• Quality Assurance: Maintain a meticulous approach to quality checks, ensuring that every piece meets luxury standards for craftsmanship, fit, and finish.
• Collection Development: Plan and execute seasonal collections, managing the process from concept to runway or retail, ensuring alignment with the brand’s luxury appeal.
• Costing & Budget Management: Work with the production and finance teams to manage budgets, ensuring a balance between quality and profitability for each collection.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Indian wear design, ideally in the luxury or couture segment.
• Strong portfolio showcasing luxury Indian wear designs, attention to detail, and a high-end aesthetic.
• Proficiency in design software like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD.
• Deep understanding of traditional Indian textiles, embroidery techniques, and garment construction.
• Excellent communication skills and a client-centric approach to design.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teams, artisans, and suppliers.
